Let’s talk about the Bubble Civic. Everyone has seen one and probably knows someone who had one if you lived through the 90s or 2000s. These are “cars”. Like how a motorcycle with four wheels and a cabin are cars. The VX is the efficiency model that came before the HX. It has V-TEC! But what is that? It changes The cam profile to go into lean-burn and takes away power? But why? 54MPG. I am not kidding. This early 90s hatch that sits on stock suspension and comes up to my lower chest averages in the 50s!

It’s a blast to drive with it’s 83HP 1.5L. The car is so light it doesn’t need more. Bare bones everything is why the car is still driving today. Manual: transmission, windows, seats, antenna (yes, remember reaching out the window to extend the antenna?), steering (rack and pinion all day). The only power option on this car is air conditioning that still works.

Is this a fancy car? No. Will this car run forever, be a joy to drive, and get you there for next to no cost? Of course!
